Cooking Class Weekend Getaway: Handling Fin Fish Swimmingly
June 8-9, 2012 | Class: 11am to 2pm
Join Chef Kyle Nicholson for a cooking class getaway focused on fresh and local seafood. This fun-filled lesson gives you and your significant other the opportunity to learn about the wild fin fish that are abundant in Northwest waters. The culinary adventure begins on Friday, June 8, 2012, with a relaxing overnight stay at Friday Harbor House. The next morning, awaken to enjoy our signature complimentary continental breakfast. The kitchen gets mixing at 11am when Chef Kyle walks you through the steps from buying to butchering and storing your seafood with a professionals touch! Learn how to make the most of your fish in regard to cooking techniques and tools that aid preparation such as fish spatulas, needle nose pliers, sharp and flexible knives and more. Newfound camaraderie will be toasted with wine and a specially prepared lunch of simple grilled salmon, kelp roasted halibut, and seared snapper with pan sauce.
